Face it.. You are Beautiful
Ok so surprisingly I didn't wear makeup till about 11th grade. I was a big tomboy in fact on picture day in 10th grade some girl put eyeliner on me in the bathroom and told me to wear her necklace (ahh did not match at all haha but it's ok.) I also remember when those double sided mascaras came out with the white primer on one side.. And somehow I of course wore that white side bc I thought it was cool and you were just supposed to pick one side..don't worry my friends at school helped me immediately after Loling (tiff and kale;) all that to say I KNOW makeup is not for everyone, but it can help with confidence, completing a certain look, and is sometimes just fun to mess around with! Anyways, about senior year I decided it was time to slap some paint on this ole barn and started teaching myself how to do makeup and watching tutorials all the time. There is still a lot to learn and figure out what works on me and others! I have recently taught several people how to highlight and contour (the best I know how) so I thought I'd share some tips with y'all!
•you don't have to always buy the expensive stuff
•the right brushes seriously do help
•don't go overboard, thick makeup ain't cute
•when learning a new look plan on staying home for the night (just in case ;)
•some of your local makeup girls might really not know what they are doing.. So be sure and buy the things you know look good.. Sometimes they are just trying to meet a quota meanwhile you end up looking like a clown
•lip liner and lipsticks aren't just for old ladies! Haha I've heard that from a bird or two and lips are my go to favs!
I don't usually wear a base for day wear, but this base by makeup forever is great to just out on by itself to run errands or go to class.. Ha or if you're like me don't wear anything to class.
I've always really liked Urban Decays eyeshadows 'midnight cowboy' and 'sin' are great colors to use for a neutral day look
I've used both expensive and Walmart brand liners and mascaras.. It's just my opinion but I think this is wear you can cut costs but getting Maybelline. Also, my all time favorite Chapstick at Bath & Body is to die for..it's CO Bigelow.
These little suckers are matte like foundations used for contouring and highlighting. I finally found at sephora, however I do think there are cheaper options at Walmart I just haven't had the chance to go explore. The yellow stick is from Walmart.
Lighter Blush (can also get at Walmart) use on the lower cheek
The top two I use for applying the highlight and dark shades on my face. The bottom two are eyeshadow brushes.
Eco tools brushes can be found at Ulta and Walmart.
The top I uses for blush. This middle(AMAZING) use for blending the dark contours and bottom use for blending the highlights.
Bronzer use after you blend the matte foundations
Deep blush use on high cheek bone
Just for kicks and giggles-That 10th grade pic I was talking about:)
This is all fun and an art to play around with, but sometime the world makes us feel that the outward beauty is what defines us as a women. I watched a video and read some articles on the 'ugliest woman' the other day and she is my new definition of beauty. She has a huge heart, though she can barely walk from her syndrome she carries herself with confidence and grace and knows no matter she is loved by her maker Jesus Christ. To me, true Beauty is something a blind person can see they feel is when you are near. There is no amount of makeup that will ever cover up my flaws, compared to Jesus I am nothing but filthy rags and He loves me anyways. Ihave definitely gotten some of this makeup stuff down but It is a continual journey workin on this heart of mine:)
1 Peter 3:3-4 Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious.
You are beautiful!
